Advancement of Tamil Interests Act

To advance the interests and elevate the social status of the Bandurian Tamil minority
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED, as follows:
§1 - Status of the Tamil Language- Tamil shall become an official language of Banduria
- Upon the passing of any law which removes the system of official languages, §1 sub-clause 1 shall be struck null and void
- All commercial venues are hereby required to have provisions to serve their customers in Tamil
- The following entities shall hereby have a Tamil version alongside existing languages
- Public transportation signage and announcements
- Road signage
- Signage in government offices
- Public service announcements (PSAs)
- All public schools shall hereby offer Tamil as a second language, alongside existing languages
§2 - Status of Hinduism- Hinduism shall be recognized as an official religion of Banduria, alongside the presently recognized religions
- Hindu institutions shall hereby receive government tax breaks on the basis of being a religious institution
- The following holidays shall be recognized as official Hindu holidays, and Hindus be guaranteed paid leave as defined by the Human Rights Act

- Navaratri
- Raksha Bandan

Forcing schools to provide classes in Tamil would directly conflict with the entire concept of abolishing official languages. A school in a region with no Tamil speakers should not be legally required to provide Tamil classes, especially when Dutch, Cantonese, and Malay classes are no longer legally required.
(OOC: Also, Hindu would likely already be a recognised tax-exempt religion in a country like Banduria.)
