Societal Integration of Young Lite Offenders Act

An act to allow proper reintegration of young first-time lite offenders back into society
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED, as follows:
§1 - Definition
- The act applies to 'first time young lite offenders'.
- 'First time young lite offenders' are defined as those:
- who have not been sentenced to imprisonment before
- are 25 years old or younger
- have been sentenced to a fixed-term imprisonment of no more than five years
- who have not been sentenced to imprisonment before
§2 - Integration Program
- A 'job training' program shall be established. The program will consist of vocational training and career technical education to teach inmates about general employment skills or skills needed for specific jobs. Priority will be given to various trade industries, including building maintenance, painting, carpentry, electrical trades, barbering and plumbing. In addition, vocational training will allow inmates to work towards industry-recognized credentials and certificates. The type of training will depend on the inmates' interests, availability of teaching staff, and funding.
- A psychological support program shall be established. It will include three sessions every month, with one psychological counselor per every fifteen inmates. The objective of this program will be to ensure that, upon release, the inmates will be mentally healthy and able to properly integrate back into society.
